Happy Birthday Card

Today Moon celebrates her birthday and I made her this card. Last month we met each other in person for the very first time. Until then we only knew each other through the virtual world. Moon is a very nice person, and a great scrapbooker too. Her gorgeous cards, mini albums and other creative projects can be found on her blog.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill White Patterned papers: Sassafras Lass Flowers: Prima Marketing Ribbon: brand unknown Tools: Fiskars Threading Water Punch Other: white tag, crystal rhinestone

I would also like to wish Charlotte from Denmark a very happy birthday. She celebrates her birthday today too.

Off to scrap some cards now. Thanks for your sweet comments.

Just Because...

...she is the best mom in the world I bought my mom this Cuttlebug alphabet as a gift and made a tag with the gorgeous Delightful patterned papers. I just can't get enough of this collection.

Supplies: Patterned paper: Delightful by Little Yellow Bicycle Ribbon: Bazzill Tools: Fiskars Threading Water Punch, QuicKutz Cookie Cutter Nesting Flowers, Sewing machine Other: We R Memory Keepers Eyelets and Alpha-Bitties PC Leere Black

And of course my dad is the best too. Since my parents were away on holiday we weren't able to visit them on Father's Day. On Monday they look after Fleur and Sanne, and when I got home today I gave them both their gift. My dad got a gift card - in a handmade envelope - to buy this bicycle carrier (don't know the correct English word) which can be attached to their car. It is not only a Father's Day gift, but also a gift for his birthday next month. Needless to say, they both were very happy with their gift.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Kraft and DCWV Adhesive Mat Stack, Patterned paper: Scenic Route Buttons: Autumn Leaves Foof-a-La Ink: VersaColor Pinecone Tools: QuicKutz Studio Skinni Mini Alphabet dies Other: DMC embroidery floss.

Take care!

New Blog Banner

I thought it was time for a chance, and made myself a new blog banner. I used the Trendy Pop digital kit designed by Cori Gammon of Scrap Artist. I really like the colors and elements of this kit. I am still a beginner when it comes to digital scrapbooking, so it takes a while to make a banner, but I don't mind....I enjoy doing it.

Thanks for stopping by, and your lovely comments.

Another Card

I have been working on a few things, but can't post them yet. So, in the meantime I thought I'd share another card with you. I participated in the biggest swap ever and had to send a card to Robyn in Australia. I received an e-mail from Robyn yesterday letting me know that she received my card, so now I can also showcase it on my blog. The card - again with my favorite Scenic Route papers - is based on Laura's Sketch 1 posted on 2 Sketches 4 You earlier this month.

Supplies: Bazzill cardstock, Scenic Route Laurel PPs, Prima Flowers, Making Memories Tiny Alphabet Stickers, QuicKutz Cookie Cutter Nesting Flowers, Hotfix Crystal Rhinestones, Tulip Puffy Paint, and ribbon.

Have a wonderful day!

Last Saturday the first card sketch for June was posted on My Sketch World. Again I used Scenic Route's Lynden PPs. I made this card last Saturday when we stayed with my parents in Ouddorp for the weekend. The sketch and cards by the DT can be found here.

And yesterday it was time for another card sketch on the Dolls & Decorations forum. I used one of the latest card sketches by Becky Fleck from Pagemaps. I used some girlie Sassafras Lass left overs for this card. I might send this one to one of my friends who is expecting a baby girl.

Happy Birthday Envelope

My dear friend Irma celebrates her 40th birthday tomorrow. Since she didn't know what to ask we bought her a gift coupon. Instead of wrapping it up in wrapping-paper I made an envelope. I used Kazan's Sketch 2 for this envelope. I really love the sketches at 2 Sketches 4 You. I am already looking forward to the new sketch by Laura.

What a Bargain!

Although I have a QuicKutz Silhouette machine and can cut any true type letter font that I like I still love my BigShot die cutting machine and Sizzix and QuicKutz alphabet dies. There was one QuicKutz alphabet set that I wanted to have for a while....Studio Classic. Unfortunately the die cutting alphabet sets are very expensive over here. Last week I searched on eBay and found a QuicKutz Studio Classic and SkinniMini set. The bid was about to end the next day. I entered my highest bid, and completely forgot about the end time of the bid. When I checked my e-mail at work last Thursday I found out that I won the bid. Wooohooo! And guess what, I paid only $92/€61 for both sets including shipping! What a bargain! Today I received both alphabet sets in the mail, and I am really pleased with my purchase.

A Card, and a Sneak Peek

When we were in Ouddorp with my parents I scrapped some cards with my mom on Saturday evening while Eric and my dad were watching the European Championship Football. I have to finish a few cards as I didn't take any alphabet stickers or dies with me. Here is one of the cards that I made.

Supplies: Bazzill Cardstock White, We R Memory Keepers White Out Promenade PPs, Prima Flowers, Heidi Swapp Ghost Flowers, Fiskars Threading Water Punch, American Crafts Thickers Daiquiri, Making Memories Heidi Alphabet Rub-ons, Tulip Puffy Paint White, and staples.

I also made a card for My Sketch World. If all goes as planned the new card sketch for June will be posted on Saturday June 14th. For now I'll leave you with a sneak peek.

Well, I am off to do some scrapping as I have to catch some deadlines. I really have to create some projects as the due dates are getting closer and closer.

Thanks for stopping by, and all your sweet comments.

Out of Town

We were out of town this weekend. We spent the weekend with my parents who are on holiday in Ouddorp (NL) for 2 weeks. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great. The rest of the Netherlands seemed to have beautiful weather and high temperatures, but it was very cloudy and a bit chilly in Ouddorp. However, we did have a great time and spent lots of time outside. Of course we had to go to the beach on Saturday and today, because Fleur and Sanne love to go there. The weather condition wasn't great for taking pictures, so we don't have that many pictures this time. The pictures below were taken with my compact camera. Eric also took pictures which he will probably showcase on his own blog this week. He tested his new lenses this weekend, so you be prepared for pictures of flora, fauna and landscapes instead of family pictures. :-))

Hello

Last week I signed up for the biggest card swap ever. I received two addresses and had to make a flower or summer themed card. I chose to make two flower themed cards. This one is for Bea from Amsterdam. She received my card today, so now I can showcase it here. If you visited the 2 Sketches 4 You blog you may recognize the design. This card is my take on Kazan's Sketch #1. I so love her sketches, and am glad I met her through My Sketch World. 2 Sketches 4 You is a HUGE success - 2,600+ hits since last Sunday! - and I am really happy for Kazan and Laura.

Supplies: Bazzill Cardstock White, Scenic Route Lynden PPs, Prima Flowers, EK Success Flower Punch, Crystal Rhinestones, American Crafts Ribbon, safety pin, and white tag.

My other swap card - based on Laura's sketch - is on its way to Australia, so it will take at least a week before I can show it on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's Sketch Time

It is June 1st so....time to host another card and layout sketch challenge on the Dolls & Decorations forum. I didn't have to look far for a card sketch this time. Well...geographically spoken it is far.....very far, but actually I found this sketch close to home as the card sketch is designed by my SIL Lisette. She is a great scrapbooker and card maker, and designs gorgeous sketches too.

(c) Lisette Gibbons

Here is my take on Lisette's sketch. When I found the sketch on her blog yesterday I knew immediately I wanted to use the Spring Fling collection by Pink Paislee.

Supplies: Bazzill Kraft Cardstock, Pink Paislee Spring Fling PPs, American Crafts ribbon, Making Memories Tiny Alphabet Stickers, and VersaColor Pinecone ink.

I really loved working on this sketch. Thanks for the inspiration, girl! I know that Lisette loves to see your take on the sketch, so if you decide to make a card based on this sketch don't forget to leave a comment with a link on Lisette's blog.

I also posted a layout sketch. This time I chose the latest Pencil Lines sketch (#86) designed by Michele Beck. The beautiful picture of my handsome sweetheart is taken by Florence Bavinck. I think he looks great in this picture. Yeah, I know....I am biased. I really had to use the yummy Sumner PPs by Scenic Route, because the colors match perfectly with Eric's shirt.

Supplies: Bazzill Cardstock, Scenic Route Sumner PPs, Heidi Swapp Chipboard Letters, American Crafts ribbon, cork, Sizzix Stars die, Autumn Leaves Clear Stamps, Versafine Onyx Black, VersaColor Pinecone, Heidi Swapp Edge Distresser and sewing machine.

If you are into card making and love to use sketches then you should check the new sketch blog 2 Sketches 4 You by the talented Kazan Clark and Laura Davis. They introduced their new sketch blog today. The girls' cards and sketch designs rock....BIG time. A wonderful sketch site for inspiration!
