Card Patterns Sketch #17 - My Final DT Card

My Card Patterns DT term has come to an end. I am a bit sad to leave as it was wonderful to be part of the adventure from the very beginning. Card Patterns has become a successful card sketch blog, and Michelle does a great job. She has put a lot of effort in it. She is a wonderful person, and I am glad I met her some months ago. I am gonna miss her and the other girls, but fortunately there are blogs and e-mail, so we can stay in touch. Michelle, thanks so much for the opportunity. I enjoyed every minute of it!

We have a special Guest Designer over at Card Patterns this week. His name is Peter van Tilburg. He is our very first male Guest Designer. Peter is an amazingly talented 20 year old boy, and his work is awesome. I have met Peter a few times in person and he is a wonderful guy. Card Patterns Sketch #13

This afternoon the girls and I went to see KUS. The girls enjoyed the show a lot. I was a bit disappointed. I thought it would be a new show, but it was almost exactly the same show as we went to see in November 2007. A few new songs were added to the show, and some of the outfits were different, but the rest was the same. We had a fun time with the three of us though, and that's what matters most. I made a few pictures, but it is hard to get some great pictures when you are seated in row 18 and the lighting is not that good.



Oh....and this is what I received in the mail last Wednesday. I think I have enough Fiskars and Martha Stewart border punches.....for now. I am addicted to border punches and love using them on cards and layouts. I have 20 different border punches, but there are still a few EK Success punches that I would like to have. I have been told that Truike from Paper & Pictures ordered lots....and I mean LOTS....of Martha Stewart punches. I have no idea when they will arrive, but keep an eye out for the punches. The Martha Stewart punches are great and fun to work with.

I had an idea in my mind, but I had a real hard time getting that idea on paper. I am not really pleased with my card, but I didn't have time to make another one. Card Patterns Sketch #7

Another week has gone by, which means time for another sketch over at Card Patterns. Just like last week I used a ShortCuts product on my card. I cut out a circle, and adhered a piece of a ShortCuts Clear Full Sheet to the back. This way I created a see through card. The title, circle as well as the butterfly are adhered to the clear sheet.

Card Patterns Sketch #6

We are already at week 6 over at Card Patterns. Another fun sketch designed by Michelle. When I saw Michelle's sketch for this week I knew that I wanted to use the ShortCuts NoteCuts label that Alicia is offering as a freebie this month. The NoteCuts label is just perfect for this sketch. This time I cut the label using my QuicKutz Silhouette. I cut down a clear full sheet to make a 4.75x4.75" card.

I made this card for my father-in-law who is celebrating his birthday today. Happy Birthday, Arie!

Card Patterns Sketch #5

Today we went shopping in Maastricht, our favorite city to shop. Usually Eric and I go there together for a weekend at least once a year. This time we went with the 4 of us. We left at 8.10am, and arrived in Maastricht at 9.50am. We first had a drink in a restaurant at the beautiful square Onze Lieve Vrouwenplein. We then headed to Eric's favorite store Laurier-Bome Casual. We spent more than an hour in that store, and Eric left with lots of nice clothes. For the girls we went shopping at Esprit and Mexx, and Eric and I bought clothes at Geddes & Gillmore. Fleur and Sanne had a Happy Meal for lunch. Whenever Eric and I are in Maastricht we always take a sandwich at Subway for lunch, and that is what we did today too. We love their sandwiches. We shopped till we almost dropped, and ended our shopping trip in the same restaurant as we started in the morning. We were home at 6.30pm. We had a wonderful day today, and we all enjoyed it a lot.

I am always a bit late passing it on, and by the time I post the award on my blog my favorites have already received the award. So.....this award is for all my blog readers. This morning I got the new issue of Cards Only in the mail, and it is another great issue. Truike and Miranda (and everyone else involved) did a great job on selecting so many gorgeous cards. I have many cards pubbed in this issue, and I love to see that my SIL Lisette is also pubbed in the magazine for the very first time. I love her cards and style, and it is wonderful to be part of this together.

This afternoon I went to Dolls & Decorations to say goodbye to Petra. Today was the final day of the sale. Ingen took the initiative to organize a farewell party for Petra. Many members of the messageboard made Petra a Thank You card, and we bought her a few gifts. The store is now officially closed which also means that my DT membership ends today. I had a great time as DT member for the past 2 years, and would like to thank Petra for the opportunities that she offered me.

I also made another ShortCuts card. This card is for my grandma to thank her for a gift she gave me. I love square cards, so I used a clear full sheet (8.5x11") to make a 4.5x4.5" card.

I also made myself a new banner. I was sick today, and didn't feel like doing anything or going anywhere. Eric ran the errands, so I could stay home. I played with one of my digital kits, and came up with this banner.

TOOT - Card Patterns Design Team
