DD #55 The Men

About two weeks ago I read about DD #55 on the Dutch Dares blog. DD #55 is about letting the man in your life scrap with full access to your supplies. I immediately sent an e-mail to Eric - who was in the office that day - with a link to the challenge. He is always in for a challenge, and decided to create a card. He sometimes gives me ideas for card designs, but so far I have never executed his ideas. Now he could finally make a card based on his own ideas. I thought he would create a 4x6" or 5x5" card, but no.....he took it to a higher level and made a football shirt card using paper piecing techniques. I have been scrapbooking for 3 years now, and never tried paper piecing before. Don't you just love this card? I can tell you.....he is quite talented.

Eric really enjoyed making the card. He was quite enthusiastic, and wanted to try and scrap a layout too. He found some patterned paper scraps in my room that would go really well with the pictures, used my dies and punches, and grabbed some buttons from my stash. He used some of his own pictures that he took in our garden. One of his hobbies is gardening, and that is what this 6x12" layout is all about. I really like how he used some twine and buttons to create flowers.

Giving him full access to my scrap supplies was the hardest part of the challenge.....for me. *wink* Fortunately Eric didn't find my new October Afternoon and Scenic Route papers. He was talking about using Jillibean Soup all the time but luckily the colors didn't match his pictures. *smile*

So......what do you think of his very first card and layout? I think he did really well on this challenge.

Take care, and thanks for stopping by!
